Thanks Tony, an interesting set of data.

Interesting that only Perth and Canberra seem to have mostly recovered
from the COVID close down.

The notation of Tram Closures in Melbourne between 1950 and 1970 is a
bit of an exaggeration.

The closures were minor and peripheral and certainly not of a scale to
lead to an increase in bus patronage.  Tramway expansion since then is
more significant.

On the (off) topic of buses, I notice that the Infrastructure Victoria
paper makes a push for BRT - to support travel in outer and new growth
suburbs and  feed the rail and tram network.

Mal Rowe - occasional bus passenger who is gald to not be dependent on them.
